Introduction
In the quaint and close-knit town of Piketberg, nestled amidst the serene beauty of the South African Plattelandse dorpie, a remarkable journey began. It is the life story of Lehandi, a woman whose resilience, faith, and unwavering spirit have not only shaped her own life but continue to inspire those around her.

Roots in Piketberg
Born and raised in the heart of Piketberg, I have embraced the simplicity and warmth of my hometown. The lessons of community, strong values, and the beauty of nature left an indelible mark on me, one that would guide me throughout my life.

A Passion for Words
From a young age, I exhibited a deep love for words and storytelling. My journey led me to the Cape Peninsula University of Technology, where I earned my National Diploma in Journalism. Graduating in April 2012 marked the beginning of my professional path. But life had other plans… Journalism would eventually not be the path chosen for me, but it led me in a different direction altogether. A direction that would see me write a book in six months and launch it soon after.

A Decade at Sanlam
Nine years and counting, I have dedicated myself to my role as a Quality Assurance Coach at Sanlam. My commitment to excellence and ability to guide and mentor others has fulfilled me in so many ways. Sharing knowledge has always been a passion of mine and I thrive on helping others and sharing my experiences.

The Birth of a Writer
In December 2022, I took a courageous leap of faith and unveiled my debut book, “Gracefully Broken.” This poignant work is a testament to my own journey of overcoming trauma, finding faith, and discovering the strength within vulnerability.

A Love Story
Beyond my professional accomplishments, I am a devoted wife to Shanwill Slabbert. Together, we share a love that transcends the pages of my book, providing a beautiful backdrop to my story and more of our love story is revealed within the pages of Gracefully Broken. .

The Simple Joys
My love for baking and my passion for reading, be it fiction or non-fiction, provide moments of respite and rejuvenation. A cup of coffee is of course my faithful companion during these cherished moments.

I am a good listener and I cherish my relationships with family and friends. These connections are my lifeline, a reminder of the importance of love and support in life’s journey.
